The Marathon is one of the most demanding endurance races. Millions of runners are completing this 26 miles / 42 km race every year all over the world. Each athlete spending weeks of marathon training.
It is a distance that can be impressive, but with the correct progressive training, each runner can reach the finish line.
Every marathon runner has been training hard for weeks / months or even years before running through the finish line.
The training needs to be progressive to build the body for the race day. It is many hours of dedication, hard work, commitments and certainly less time with the family, friends…
I have trained hundreds of runners during the 12 weeks prior to their marathon to ensure they reach the finish line. But the most important part for the runners is to reach the start line in optimal shape, without injury and ready to run the marathon fully, giving the best of themselves.
I trained more than 50 runners for the Dublin marathon in 2017. More than 75% of them achieved a Personal Best.
Two runners prepared a detail race report and shared them online:
– Jimmy
– Culan
